M1-D to M1-D Result: - Digital Video Plug and Display Cable

Since your source device AND your display device both use the P&D, M1, EVC Standard, all you will need to connect these two devices is a standard EVC (P&D) Cable.  These are the cables you may need and some adapters you may find useful for your application.  Should you have any questions, please feel free to click the Live Chat link on the bottom left hand side of this page.

PBS HD is here...well..some places   12/3/2008 11:42:57 AM

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec 03, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Millions of viewers will be able to enjoy their favorite Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) programs in crystal clear HD as DIRECTV begins launching local public television stations in HD in markets across the country today. DIRECTV, which has long been at the forefront of HD programming, continues its unprecedented expansion of HD with the launch of local public television stations in 14 markets and will continue to roll out additional markets through the end of the year and in 2009 -- ahead of the Feb. 17 digital transition. Local PBS stations in HD are now available in the following markets: Cedar Rapids-Waterloo-Iowa City-Dubuque, Iowa; Chicago; Davenport, Iowa-Rock Island-Moline, Ill.; Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York, Norfolk-Newport News, Va.; Phoenix; Portland, Ore.; Rochester, N.Y.; and Waco-Temple-Bryan, Texas. The local public television HD launch follows the recent ratification by public television stations of the landmark agreement reached late last year by DIRECTV, Inc., the Association of Public Television Stations (APTS) and PBS. Under the agreement, DIRECTV will offer HD programming from local public television stations in markets where it now provides local HD channels to its customers

2 audio problems, one with HR-20 and one with HR22   12/3/2008 10:47:26 AM

1. I just got a new HR22-100. DD works great on all channel except for my Chicago locals. When on a local, no sound comes out of the center channel even though DD 5.1 is detected. The audio for the locals on my other set-up in the family room (HR20-700) is just fine. 2. On my HR20-700, every now and again I get a loud popping sound and the audio cuts out for a second. This only happens when I'm watching a channel that is broadcasting 5.1. It doesn't happen all the time, kind of comes in waves. Any ideas?

Need help clarifying options   12/2/2008 10:50:51 AM

Greetings. I am a long-time Tivo user (started with Series 1, using a Series 2 now). I live in the boonies and use DirecTV satellite service, which is the only option available here (we're off the grid entirely). I just bought an HD tv, and I see that there is currently no way to use an HD-Tivo with DirecTV, so upgrading that way is not an option at this time. Given that, 1) Can I get a DirecTV non-Tivo HD DVR (ugh) and use that, given that my internet service is through Hughesnet satellite (and as far as electronic equipment is concerned, I essentially have no phone service)? 2) Can I continue to use my Series 2 Tivo to record programming, just not in HD quality? or 3) Am I totally screwed and can no longer have any DVR service on the new HD tv? Thanks in advance for the help.

OTA only no guide data   12/1/2008 7:34:11 PM

So, I unplugged and reset my HR10 with no satellite lines and put the extra line in to my HR20 since it now gets HD locals. However, now I am not receiving any guide data on the HR10 as well as it shows account closed (on info screen) and it will not let me even manually record by time. I saw a post a few weeks ago that you could run the HR10 without any satellite lines as long as the card was active and still record. What am I doing wrong?
